Chicken Parmesan Wonton Cups

Chicken Parmesan Wonton Cups
Winter Storm Leon passed by us last night.  It left behind 2-3 inches of snow.  I still can't believe it snowed in South Carolina.  On one hand, it feels like back home.  On the other hand it feels like I have been duped into moving to a state with warmer weather when in fact this is the coldest winter for the state in a long time.  I don't regret moving, but I sure do wish it warms up fast.  My daughter was super excited to see snow when she woke up this morning.  It's one of the things she misses from living in Connecticut.  I took both her and her brother out to play and enjoy it while it lasted.  I feel bad that I didn't have a sled.  We left that behind because we didn't think we would need it down here.  Now I have to remember to bring it back next time we visit my parents.  If it snowed once, it could happen again.  Crazy weather!

Hot Chocolate Fudge

With all the cold weather we have been having lately, a nice, hot chocolate feels so warm and inviting.  Now this fudge may not be all warm and cozy, but the flavor is definitely inviting.  It is has a smooth, creamy texture and is filled with Jet-Puffed Mallow Bits, and chunks of 3 Musketeer Minis with Hot Cocoa/Marshmallow Filling.  You can now eat your hot chocolate while sitting by the fire.

Maple Barbeque Chicken Bites

#maple #barbeque #chicken #bacon #appetizer #superbowl
Here's a little Superbowl inspired treat for you.  I realize it's not a sweet, but it does have maple syrup in it and barbeque sauce, and bacon.  Come on, you can't go wrong with bacon.  Just so you know, I was not born into a sports loving family, not did I marry into one.  The closest I get is every four years my husband watches World Cup Soccer and I may watch a game or two, but we are not fanatics about it.  So Superbowl day is just another day for me.  I just had this idea for a chicken appetizer and thought it would make a great game day snack for those that party it up.

Cranberry Ginger Scones

Cranberry Ginger Scones by The Sweet Chick
I was so upset this morning when my donut recipe failed.  I had to make something to cheer myself up.  Scones are so easy to make, they seemed like a reasonable solution.  I scoured the pantry for what to put in them.  I have made a variety of scones in the past, Maple Bacon Scones, Lemon Cranberry Scones, Biscoff Chocolate Chip Scones, Mini Maple Strawberry Chocolate Chip Scones, Dulce de Leche Stuffed Scones, etc.  The flavor combinations are endless.

Sugar Cookie Waffle Sticks

Sugar Cookie Waffle Sticks by The Sweet Chick
Ok, this is it.  I have used up all my leftover sugar cookie mix.  Phew!  I still can't believe how much stuff I filled up my pantry with over the holiday season.  The pile is finally getting smaller.  I thought these waffle sticks would be cute for the kids.  I think I only used my Bella Waffle Stick Maker once so far.  I bought it at Target for $10 or something on clearance.  One of those impulse purchases that  always happen to me at Target.  The sprinkles are from the Target $1 bins.  I might have to call up Target and ask if I can be their new spokesperson because I buy so many things there.

Cherry Cordial Brownie Cookies

Cherry Cordial Browniw Cookies by The Sweet Chick
Yet another rainy day.  Kinda dreary.  I don't really feel like doing anything.  I may just sit in front of the TV and eat the rest of these cookies I made yesterday.  I used the Cherry Cordial M&M's that were out during the Christmas season.  They taste exactly like the Cherry M&M's I used last year to make my Dark Chocolate Cherry M&M Cookies.  Although I haven't look for the Cherry ones this year, I know they are usually out for Valentine's day.  So either one you use is good.  But you gotta have the cherry flavor in there.

Sugar Cookie Rice Krispie Treats

Sugar Cookie Rice Krispie Treats by The Sweet Chick
Well, the weather looks a little more promising for the weekend.  The Weather Channel says it's going to be 70°F on Saturday.  I'll take that.  Although it is supposed to rain. Oh well, nothing is perfect.  It will give me time to keep emptying out my pantry from holiday overflow.  I still had a little bit of sugar cookie mix left over from my Mini Sugar Cookie Donuts, so I made some more Valentine inspired treats.  Speaking of Valentine's, if you haven't checked out the Target $1 bins, you have to go.  They have so many cute things, like this mini chalkboard and red with white hearts washi tape.

Dark Chocolate Cherry Cordial Cookies

The Sweet Chick: Dark Chocolate Cherry Cordial Cookies (no bake)
I didn't think it could get any colder down south, but I was wrong.  I woke up to 14°F weather and a frozen water pipe.  Not cool!  I guess we didn't move far enough south.  In an effort to think happy thoughts, I am thinking of Valentine's Day.  I made some no bake dark chocolate cookies for the occasion with some Cherry Cordial Hershey Kisses I had found during the holiday season.  Dark chocolate and cherries are always a good combo in my book.

Happy New Year everyone!  I hope you all had a fabulous New Year's Eve however you spent it.  I know I did.  We have a great bunch of neighbors in these parts who hosted a party.  The kids actually behaved and we made it to midnight for the countdown.  It was a great night and a great year!
